West Virginia University Healthcare is expanding to add a 5th faculty position in the section of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. The ideal candidate will be primarily involved with teaching and clinical service as well as clinical research. Applicants must be fellowship trained and board certified/eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.

The Section practices in a contemporary 19-bed combined PICU and Step-down facility within WVU Children's Hospital. WVU Hospital is the state's center for congenital heart surgery, performing approximately 200 cardiac cases per year, spanning the spectrum from newborn to adult congenital care. WVU is also a level 1 trauma center, and has a very active pediatric neurosurgical program. In addition, we have a full spectrum of pediatric subspecialty support. The section enjoys excellent collaborative relationships with our surgical and medical colleagues, and the PICU has the highest rated patient satisfaction of any unit in WVU Hospital.

The section maintains a very active and expanding sedation service that is strongly supported by the hospital, and is highly regarded by referring providers in multiple medical and surgical specialties throughout the institution. An opportunity to direct the growing sedation service exists for interested candidates.
