Department of Anesthesiology

Application Information

Dear Applicant,

Blackwater FallsWVU handles all of its applications for residents just starting in Anesthesiology through ERAS and the NRMP. We offer PGY-1 and PGY-2 positions .

The Anesthesiology Residency Program is accredited by the ACGME for residents in the CA-1 through CA-3 level. We offer 48 month inclusive positions (PGY-1/"Categorical") and 36 month (PGY-2/"Advanced") positions through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Applicants for the CA-1 position through NRMP must have completed or applied for a separate clinical base year.

Our Residency Program is currently on probation with the ACGME. Since the probationary period was initiated, many structural and administrative changes have been made within the department and we anticipate unrestricted accreditation after our next site visit in April 2008.
