  1957
Alexander (Rusty) Sloan, M.D., who retired from the US Air Force in 1994 as a Brigadier General, is a Master in the American College of Physicians.

1959
Wayne C. Spiggle, M.D., was elected president of the West Virginia Central Fill Pharmacy (WVCFP) board of directors. Spiggle also serves on the WV Pharmaceutical Cost Management Council and is a member of the West Virginia State Medical Association.

1967
Thomas C. Spelsberg, Ph.D. (Biochemistry) is the George M. Eisenberg Professor, and Distinguished Investigator at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester, MN.

1969
Margaret A. Staggers, M.D., EMT-P, was elected in 2006 to the West Virginia House of Delegates 29th District.

1970
Larry K. Pickering, M.D., senior advisor to the director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, was awarded the 2007 Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society's Distinguished Physician Award for his contributions and accomplishments in pediatric infectious diseases.

1970
Albert J. Azzaro, Ph.D. (Pharmacology), while employed by Somerset Pharmaceutical, Inc., Tampa Florida, as their Chief Scientific Officer, (1999 to 2006), was instrumental in the discovery and clinical development, and the FDA submission, and FDA approval of the New Drug Application (NDA) of Transdermal Selegiline (EMSAM®) for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).

1977
Austin Wallace, M.D., will be installed as president of the West Virginia State Medical Association at their annual meeting at The Greenbrier in August, 2007.

1982
Gary Pekoe, MS and Ph.D. (Pharmacology & Toxicology), of Virginia Beach, VA, is president and CEO of Arkios BioDevelopment International, president of Virabiotics, Inc., president of LifeTime Pharmaceuticals, and vice president of Clinical Affairs at AlphaMed Pharmaceuticals.

1985
Clay Marsh, M.D., is chair of the board of directors of the Stanley Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation at the Ohio State University. Dr. Marsh is also the director of the Center for Critical Care at the Ohio State University Medical Center.

1987
Marilyn S. Radke, M.D., acting director, Office of Scientific Regulatory Services, Office of the Chief Science Officer, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Atlanta, GA, writes a monthly health column called “Live Well” for the National Active and Retired Federal Employees magazine.

1988
Michael L. Ferrebee, M.D., has served on the West Virginia Board of Medicine since November 2005. He is Vice President of Medical Affairs at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, and currently is completing an executive MBA degree at WVU.

1994
Richard W. Thomas, M.D., completed training in otolaryngology/head & neck surgery and is a Colonel in the US Army Medical Corps stationed at the Pentagon. He is the principal assistant deputy in Human Resources, and the assistant deputy for Health Policy in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs.

1999
J. Bradley Bellotte, M.D., is attending neurosurgeon and director of neurotrauma at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

2001
Kate R. DelPizzo, M.D., is a staff anesthesiologist in New York City at The Hospital for Special Surgery. She does pediatric and adult anesthesiology, specializing in regional anesthesia and pain management for orthopedic surgery.

2003
William C. McBee, Jr., M.D., completed an Ob/Gyn residency at Case Western Reserve University, MetroHealth Medical Center at Cleveland Clinic and is now undergoing a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Magee-Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
