In
November, the Research Induction Ceremony was held in
the Fukushima Auditorium in the Health Sciences Center.
Modeled after the White Coat Ceremony for medical
students, graduate students who have completed the first
year of the program and joined a laboratory are
presented with a lab coat by their dissertation
advisor. This ceremony recognizes the dedication of
these young scientists to research and the bonding of
mentor and student. Six students from Department of
Biochemistry laboratories, representing 3 different
graduate programs in the Medical School, were honored at
this year’s ceremony.
