The C8 Health Project
WVU Data Hosting Website

This site is intended to document and summarize the results for the C8 Health Project. The C8 Health Project was conducted between August 2005 – July 2006 by Brookmar Inc., as part of the settlement agreement reached in the case of Leach v. E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., No. 01C-608 (W. Va., Wood County Cir. Ct. filed Apr. 10, 2002). This site provides information about how the study was conducted as well as some summary results from the C8 Health Project.
The information provided on this website consists of aggregate summaries of the information about the entire population participating in the C8 Health Project and, to this end, hundreds of graphs and tables are provided. Information provided on this site is not intended to address questions about causal links between health status and exposure to C8 or other perfluorochemicals at the population level, nor it is intended to answer questions individuals may have about whether exposure to C8 or a related perfluorochemical caused their specific disease. Our objective is simply to provide participants and other website visitors as much information as possible about the data collected as part of the C8 Health Project.
All information on this site was prepared by faculty and staff of the West Virginia University under contractual agreement with Brookmar Inc. This website is a work in progress, and data are regularly being added.
This website is hosted by the Department of Community Medicine at West Virginia University. For more information about the department and its programs, please visit http://www.hsc.wvu.edu/som/cmed.
