Department of Community Medicine Carl Werntz, DO, MPH is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Community Medicine and the Institute of Occupational & Environmental Health at the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He is an osteopathic physician engaged in the practice of Occupational and Environmental medicine. Dr Werntz earned his DO degree from The Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri and his MPH from the West Virginia University. He completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Occupational Medicine at West Virginia University. He is currently board certified in Internal Medicine and Occupational Medicine. He is current work and research interests focus on caring for injured workers, response to public health emergencies, and education in occupational medicine and public health. In his free time he is an active search and rescue volunteer with the Mountaineer Area Rescue Group, plus he enjoys caving, cross-country skiing, and hiking. |
