Edward Doyle, MD, MSc

Dr. Edward Doyle received his MD from the George Washington University in Washington, DC and his MS in Occupational Health from the University of Southern California. He trained initially in family medicine at Camp Pendleton, California and in occupational medicine at the University of Southern California, he has maintained board certification in family medicine and is board certified in occupational medicine.
Before coming to West Virginia University, Dr. Doyle was a founding member and past chairman of the U.S. Navy's Medical Surveillance Committee. Dr. Doyle's interests are in Workers' Compensation systems; repetitive strain disorders -- particularly carpal tunnel; and primary/secondary prevention of tobacco use. Dr. Doyle divides his time between the state Workers' Compensation Division, where he supports medical practice as well as data standardization projects; and teaching clinical aspects of occupational medicine. He has received the Department of the Navy's Captain Ernest Brown Award for Excellence in Occupational Health and currently serves on the board of the State American Lung Association.
