Research Professor

Director, West Virginia University Injury Control Research Center (ICRC).
Received a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh and a Master’s from the Graduate School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Tulane University; and a BS from the University of South Carolina.
Fellow, American College of Epidemiology (1998).
Retired officer from the Medical Services Corps, U.S. Navy: 1970-1995.
Has over 65 peer-review publications and has presented invited papers, seminars, grand rounds, and posters at national and international conferences.
Editorial Board for Injury Prevention.
Secretary/Treasurer for the Society for Advancement of Violence and Injury Research (2004-2008).
Received 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public Health.
Dominion Post’s 100 Most Influential People in Monongalia County (#23 in 2003).
Current research interests: descriptive epidemiology of recreational (ATV) fatalities and injuries.
