Ms. Kelley is in charge of the Meta-Analytic Research Lab in the Department of Community Medicine at WVU. She came to WVU from Massachusetts General Hospital’s Institute of Health Professions in Boston. Ms. Kelley’s thesis focused on research dealing with the health habits and counseling practices of physicians.

She also helped develop a videotape and training manual on early childhood movement education for child care providers. More recently, she has worked as the primary research assistant on several externally funded grants from the US Department of Defense, National Institutes of Health, and American Heart Association. These externally funded projects use the meta-analytic approach to examine the effects of physical activity on health-related disease, specifically, the effects of exercise on resting blood pressure, bone mineral density, and lipids and lipoproteins.
She is a member of the American Heart Association’s Epidemiology Council, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Public Health Association.
