Goins Appointed to National Panel on Caregiving, Rural Aging

The Johnson & Johnson/Rosalynn Carter Institute Caregivers Program appointed faculty researcher, R. Turner Goins, PhD, to its advisory panel of ten national experts on caregiving and rural aging.  Goins is the associate professor of the WVU Center on Aging.

The panel convened at the Carter Center in Atlanta, where Goins presented "Research in Rural Caregiving:  What's Known and What's Needed."  Each panel member will write a chapter for publication based on his or her presentation; the chapters will be compiled and published as part of a series of academic texts on caregiving.

"We are extremely proud of Dr. Goins' appointment to this panel," said Richard Ham, M.D., director of the Center on Aging.  "She is very focused on putting research into practice and this appointment really helps us shine a light on rural aging issues on the national stage."
