R. Turner Goins, PhD, associate professor for the WVU Center on Aging and the Department of Community Medicine, has co-edited the book "Service Delivery to Rural Older Adults" with John A. Krout, PhD, from Ithaca College.
In an effort to confront disparities in the health care of rural older adults, Drs. Goins and Krout present an examination of the curent barriers to rural services, housing and technology. They also look at detailed best-practices and working models of effective rural care.
"Drs. Goins and Krout have produced an up-to-date book on an issue of crucial interest to all who care about rural elders," said Richard Ham, MD, director of the WVU Center on Aging.
"These authors have done a wonderful service by providing a comprehensive and richly textured set of essays that will both assist and encourage us," Graham Rowles, PhD, chair of the department of gerontology at the University of Kentucky wrote in the foreword.
"Service Delivery to Rural Older Adults" is published by Springer Publishing Company and is available via their website, http://www.springerpub.com, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and other retailers. |
