Conference Theme: “Cross Border Public Health Preparedness for Pandemic Influenza: Building Collaborations at the Local Level”
Cross-Border Public Health Preparedness conference on Pandemic Influenza will build a collaborative bridge between Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia for about 200 border county participants from a wide range of local, state, federal, and territorial governmental agencies and private-sector threat-preparedness partners.
Learning Objectives: At the end of the Cross-Border Public Health Preparedness on Pandemic Influenza Conference, the participants will be able to:
- Identify methods in regional collaboration for All-Hazards Preparedness
- List different approaches to hospital preparedness for Pandemic Flu
- Discuss the basic principles of Continuity-of-Operations (COOPs)
- List methods to enhance public health and healthcare collaboration
- Describe best practices for public health volunteer recruitment, training, and retention

This continuing education activity has been provided by the West Virginia University School of Nursing for 8.4 contact hours. The West Virginia University School of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing education by the State of West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses, Legislature Rule §19CSR11-4 under provider number WV1996-0120RN.

The WVU School of Dentistry is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider, an approved Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) Program Approval for Continuing Education (PACE) Program Provider (FAGD/MAGD Approved 11/1/05 – 12/31/09), and an Association for Continuing Dental Education (ACDE) Approved Provider.
