MPH Practicum Prerequisites
Prior to enrolling in any of the practicum courses, all students must satisfactorily complete, or be concurrently registered for, the required core MPH program courses. These include:
- PUBH 611 - Applied Biostatistics
- CHPR 612 - Social and Behavioral Theory
- PUBH 630 - Policy and the Health System
- PUBH 650 - Environmental Health
- PUBH 660 - Public Health Epidemiology
- PUBH 639 - Survey Methods OR
- CHPR 634 - Health Promotion Research Methods
- PUBH 679 - Public Health Seminar
Exceptions to this prerequisite policy are rare, but are made in special circumstances and require the approval of the student’s Faculty Advisor, the Practicum Director, and the CMED Educational Programs Director.
In addition, students are advised to complete track and elective courses, as possible, prior to beginning the practicum process. |
