Department of Emergency Medicine

Clinical Experience

The residency program requires residents to work in various services throughout the three years. The first year is a transition year in which the intern rotates through numerous specialties. In the last 2 years, the resident concentrates more in the Emergency Department to improve his or her Emergency Medicine skills. Residents work at Ruby Memorial Hospital (WVU hospital) and United Hospital Center (UHC).
