Bachelor of Science Program

The bachelor of science program in exercise physiology is a preparatory program for graduate or professional school. Graduates continue their education in areas such as exercise physiology, physical therapy, dentistry, pharmacy, or medicine. The program is designed to provide a background in basic science and exercise physiology, and includes courses in nutrition, athletic training, first aid and emergency care, and business.

Admission Requirements

Students must meet the minimum requirements for WVU for admission to the B.S. Program. Students must complete one year of exercise physiology courses with at least a 2.75 grade point average, and have no Ds or Fs in required courses in order to continue in the exercise physiology program. Thereafter, students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average with at least a C average in all required coursework.

Program Requirements

I. University Requirements

  • Students must complete the University requirements for the general education curriculum.

II. Program Requirements

  • All students in the BS program must complete the health and immunization form by December 22 of the first year of enrollment. Immunization forms can be found on the Health Forms Page
  • Students must complete the following courses or course equivalents in theory and foundation. Students must have a grade of "C" or better in all required courses. Students must have a minimum of 128 hours to graduate. Students whose cumulative grade point average falls below 2.5 will be dismissed from the program.
