Brian D. Ellis, M.D. is director of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Service. He is an Associate Professor of Opthalmology with a joint appointment in WVU's Department of Neurology. Dr. Ellis is board-certified in ophthalmology.
A native of Butler, Pennsylvania, Dr. Ellis graduated form Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He then completed an ophthalmology residency and neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation before joining WVU in 1994.
Dr. Ellis currently directs the Veterans Administration Ophthalmology Service in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and the Vision Rehabilitation Program at HealthSouth Mountainview Hospitals in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Dr. Ellis has been and is involved in a number of clinical trials and research projects, with more than 20 related publications to his credit. His special interests include neuro-ophthalmology, pseudotumor cerebri, optic neuritis, and anterior ischemic optic neuropathy.
