	John F. Brick, MD Chairman Degree Awarded: West Virginia University Specialty Training: West Virginia University; Mayo Clinic Special Interests: Epilepsy, EEG, Cerebrovascular Disease, Seizure Surgery Dr. Brick did his advanced specialty training in electroencephalography at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. His areas of expertise include epilepsy, EEG, cerebrovascular disease, and seizure surgery. Dr. Brick is expert in the treatment and evaluation of patients with epilepsy. He is board certified in Neurology and EEG by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology.

	Laurie Gutmann, MD Director EMG Laboratory Director Neurology Residency Program Director Neurophysiology Fellowship Program Degree Awarded: West Virginia University Specialty Training: University of Virginia Special Interests: Neuromuscular Diseases, ALS, Clinical Neurophysiology, EMG, Dystonias Dr. Laurie Gutmann is medical director of the EMG Laboratory, the ALS Clinic and co director of the MDA Clinic. Dr. Gutmann did advanced training in Neurology, Neuromuscular Diseases and EMG at the University of Virginia. Her special interests in include neuromuscular disease, dystonias and clinical neurophysiology. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

	Ludwig Gutmann, MD Hazel Ruby McQuain Professor of Neurology Degree Awarded: Columbia University Specialty Training: University of Wisconsin; Mayo Clinic Special Interests: Neuromuscular Diseases, Clinical Neurophysiology, EMG, Myasthenia Gravis, Parkinson's Disease. Dr. Ludwig Gutmann has held the title of Hazel Ruby McQuain Professor of Neurology at WVU Since 1996. He completed his advance training in clinical neurophysiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology including added qualifications in clinical neurophysiology and the American Board of Electrodiagnositic Medicine. He has expertise in neuromuscular disease, clinical neurophysiology, myasthenia gravis and Parkinson's Disease.

	Marc Haut, Ph.D. Degree Awarded: University of North Dakota Specialty Training: University of Missouri, West Virginia University Special Interests: Neurophysiology, Head Trauma, Dementia Dr. Marc Haut completed advanced specialty training at the University of Missouri and West Virginia University. He has board certifications in psychology and clinical neurophysiology. His special interests include neurophysiology testing for dementia, Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia .

	Margaret E. Jaynes, MD Child Neurology Section Chief Degree Awarded: West Virginia University Specialty Training: West Virginia University Special Interests: Child Neurology, Attention-Deficit Disorders Dr. Maggie Jaynes did advanced specialty training in Pediatrics and Neurology at WVU, where she is the co-director of the MDA clinic. Dr. Jaynes holds a joint appointment in Pediatrics. Her special interests are in child neurology and attention-deficit disorders. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology - Child Neurology.

	Jack E. Riggs, MD Vice Chair Degree Awarded: University of Rochester Specialty Training: University of Rochester Special Interests: Neuromuscular Diseases, Neuroepidemiology Dr. Jack Riggs is vice chair of the Department of Neurology. He holds board certification from both the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Riggs completed his advanced specialty training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Strong Memorial Hospital in New York. He has expertise in neuromuscular diseases and neuroepidemiology.

	Jeffery Hogg, MD Degree Awarded: West Virginia University Specialty Training: University of Pittsburgh Special Interests: Neuroradiology Dr. Hogg holds a joint appointment in the Department of Radiology which, is his primary department.

	David P. Libell, MD Director, Stroke Center Degree Awarded: Temple University Specialty Training: University of Virginia, West Virginia University Special Interests: Stroke, Neuromuscular Diseases, Clinical Neurophysiology Dr. Libell is the Director of WVU's Comprehensive Stroke Unit. He did his advanced specialty training at WVU where he completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology. Dr. Libell specializes in stroke, neuromuscular disease and clinical neurophysiology. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the NIH Human Participant Protection Education for Research Teams. Dr. Libell is a task force member of the West Virginia Cerebrovascular Health Program.

	Gauri Pawar, MD Vice-Chair of Business Affairs and Compliance, Medical Director Degree Awarded: University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Specialty Training: University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, West Virginia University Special Interests: Multiple Sclerosis Dr. Gauri Pawar completed her advances training in clinical neurophysiology at WVU. She holds American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certification with added qualifications in clinical neurophysiology and is a member of the National Institutes of Health Data Safety Monitoring Board. Dr. Pawar's areas of specialty include stroke rehabilitation and neurophysiology.

	John A Young, MD Degree Awarded: West Virginia University Specialty Training: West Virginia University Special Interests: Developmental Neuropsychiatry, Tourette's, Sleep Disorders Dr. John Young holds a joint appointment with the Department of Psychiatry. He serves as medical director of the neuropsychiatry program at WVU's Chestnut Ridge Hospital. Dr. Young is the medical director of WVU's Sleep Lab. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both fields. Dr. Young specializes in developmental neuropsychiatry, Tourette's syndrome and sleep disorders.

	Claudette E. Brooks, MD Degree Awarded: Ross University Specialty Training: West Virginia University, Mayo Clinic Special Interests: Stroke Dr. Claudette Brooks serves as director of the WVU Neurovascular Lab and the Women's Storke Clinic, which is part of the WVU Center of Excellence in Women's Health. She is a member of the WVU Stroke Center Team, the Stroke Clinic and the Stroke Research Clinic. Dr. Brooks did advanced training in cerebrovascular disease at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

	Cathrin M. Buetefisch, MD Degree Awarded: Free University of Berlin Specialty Training: West Virginia University, National Institutes of Health Special Interests: Movement Disorders Dr. Buetefisch did her advanced training in neurology at the National Institute of Neurological Disorder and Stroke, the Neurological Therapeutic Center and the Department of Neurology at Heinrich-Heine University in Dusseldorf Germany. She specializes in the treatment of movement disorders and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

	Jeffrey Carpenter, MD Degree Awarded: West Virginia University Specialty Training: University of Pittsburgh Special Interests: Neuroradiology Dr. Carpenter holds a joint appointment in the Department of Radiology which, is his primary department.

	Brian Ellis, MD Director, Neuro-Ophthalmology Degree Awarded: Temple University Specialty Training: Cleveland Clinic Foundation Special Interests: Neuro-Ophthalmology Dr. Ellis holds a joint appointment in the Department of Ophthalmology which, is his primary department.

	Christopher Scott Nance, MD Degree Awarded: Wake Forest University School of Medicine Specialty Training: Mayo Graduate School of Medicine Special Interests: Clinical Neurophysiology, Peripheral Nerve Disorders Dr. Chris Nance completed his advance training in peripheral nerve disease and clinical neurophysiology at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, MN. Dr. Nance is an expert in disorders that affect the nerves. He is certificated by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.


	Adriana E. Palade, MD Director, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, EEG Lab Degree Awarded: University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Romania Specialty Training: Allegheny General Hospital, Duke University Special Interests: Epilepsy, Seizure Surgery Dr. Adriana Palade is the Director of the Epilepsy Monitor Unit. She specializes in diagnosing and treating patient with epilepsy and sleep disorders. Dr. Palade completed her advanced training in clinical neurophysiology at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Palade is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

	Ansaar Rai, MD Degree Awarded: Agha Khan University Specialty Training: West Virginia University Special Interests: Neuroradiology, Stroke Intervention, Stroke Imaging Dr. Rai holds a joint appointment in the Department of Radiology which, is his primary department.

	Alejandro Torres-Trejo, MD Degree Awarded: Higher School of Medicine, National Polytechnic Institute Specialty Training: University of California, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and West Virginia University Special Interests: Epilepsy, Epilepsy Surgery , Neuro-Oncology Dr. Torres-Trejo received his advance training in neuro-oncology from both Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and University of California. He received his advanced training in clinical neurophysiology from WVU. Dr. Torres-Trejo is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

	David Watson, MD Degree Awarded: West Virginia University Specialty Training: University of Virginia and University of North Carolina Special Interests: Headache Medicine Dr. Watson received his specialty training in Headache Medcine at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. He is a member of the American Headache Society and the International Headache society. He is board certifitied by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

	Tracy Weimer, MD, PhD Degree Awarded: West Virginia University Specialty Training: West Virginia University Special Interests: Epilepsy, Epilepsy Surgery Dr. Weimer did her advanced training here at WVU. She did her doctoral work in pharmacology /toxicology at WVU focusing on the carcinogenicity and DNA repair of the chemical 7,12-Dimethylbenz(a)anthracene. Dr. Weimer did her post-doctoral fellowship work at WVU's Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
