The Epilepsy Center
WVU’s Epilepsy Center provides multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art care for adults and children with seizure disorders. With access to the latest diagnostic and treatment tools, WVU's epilepsy specialists can often dramatically improve a patient's condition through medication, surgery, or a combination of both.
Epilepsy Evaluation - a Three-Step Process
The key to determining the best treatment for epilepsy is a thorough evaluation. A primary goal is to discover whether there is a single, identifiable area of the brain causing the seizures, and -- if there is -- to locate that area as accurately as possible. This process is accomplished with three high-tech diagnostic tools available at only a few specialized centers.
