Department of Neurosurgery
Neuro-Oncology Program
New Patient Evaluations
New patients are evaluated by our multi-disciplinary team consisting of the appropriate members from the departments of neurosurgery, neuropsychology, neurology, rehabilitation medicine, radiation-oncology, radiation physics, nursing, neuropathology and neuroradiology. Patient and family convenience is a focus of the neuro-oncology program. Patients can meet with multiple team members on one visit to our multi-disciplinary clinic. When appropriate, we will ask the patient to see other team members or other health care providers located within West Virginia University. We will attempt to make all of these evaluations on one day to eliminate the need of the patient making multiple trips to our facility.
Referrals of patients to the neuro-oncology program can be made by calling (304) 598-4890. Patients would enhance their evaluations if they carry with them their complete radiology files along with any pathology slides from previous biopsies. Medical records including hospital discharge summaries, consultations, pathology and radiology reports can be best sent to us by fax at (304) 293-4819.
