WVU Center for Reproductive Medicine

Mission and Goals

Our Goal

The WVU Center for Reproductive Medicine was established to provide you with optimal care, comfort, and convenience in a state of the art facility. Although our physical center is separate from the medical campus, we are a part of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at West Virginia University. We realize that reproductive conditions can be confusing and overwhelming. Consequently, we do our best to provide you with education about your condition, give you appropriate literature or other educational materials, and answer any questions that you may have. Your involvement in your treatment plans helps us plan a therapy that best suits your needs. We also make counseling available to assist you with the emotional components of your condition.

Our Philosophy

The staff of the WVU Center for Reproductive Medicine shares the shares the philosophy that each course of infertility treatment should result in the birth of a single healthy infant. Some see this philosophy as inefficient due to the financial and emotional costs of infertility and its treatment. However, we feel that the potential for adverse physical, emotional, economic, and social outcomes associated with a multiple birth far exceeds anything that would be expected to occur during the evaluation and treatment of infertility. Therefore, we are dedicated to working with you to reduce your potential for the development of a multiple birth.
