Pre-Occupational Therapy Students

Students who are interested in pursuing a career in occupational therapy and plan to apply to the professional program can be designated as Pre-occupational therapy students. The major code for this is 1085. Students in the pre-occupational therapy major will receive their academic advising within the Division of Occupational Therapy. They will also be included in Division e-mail lists and receive information about special opportunities available within the Division. Students can be designated as pre-occupational therapy students at any point in their undergraduate career although the major is traditionally the primary choice of freshmen and sophomore students completing the necessary pre-requisites to apply to the professional program.

The designation as a Pre-Occupational Therapy student does not assure the student of admission into the Occupational Therapy professional education program. Admission to the professional program is competitive and based on multiple factors. Students can apply for admission to the program in Mid November of every year once they have completed or are scheduled to complete their pre-requisites within the next semester.
