Dr. McCombie holds bachelor degrees in Occupational Therapy (College Misericordia – Dallas, PA) and Sociology (Lock Haven University – Lock Haven, PA), a master degree in Psychology (Loyola University of Chicago – Chicago, IL), and a doctorate in Psychology (Loyola University of Chicago – Chicago, IL).
Dr. McCombie was one of the original founders of the Occupational Therapy Program at West Virginia University, joining WVU in 1995. He served as Interim Chair of the program (September 1998) and was appointed Chair of the Division of Occupational Therapy in February 2000.
Dr. McCombie’s area of clinical expertise is occupational therapy in the school system. His area of research interest includes survey research related to attitudes, perceptions, and beliefs of Occupational Therapists on diverse topics. He has presented papers at local, state, regional, national, and international conferences.
