Figure 3     H&E Low Power.  Round to polygonal cells in a somewhat lobular pattern of growth.  Notice the amorphic eosinophilic stroma.

Figure 4     H&E  High Power.  Polygonal cells with abundant pink granular cytoplasm, oval nuclei, speckled chromatin, and inconspicuous nucleoli.  Multiple binucleate cells are present.

Figure 5     Congo Red.  Prominent staining with Congo red is seen in the stromal deposits.

Figure 6 (a & b)     Congo Red Photographed in Polarized Light.  Stromal deposits exhibit characteristic green birefringence.

Figure 7      Calcitonin Immunoperoxidase.  Strong positivity is exhibited with calcitonin staining.
