She was subsequently admitted and underwent upper and lower endoscopy. Colonoscopy revealed old, clotted blood within the colon with no active site of bleeding. Upper endoscopy revealed gastric antrum vascular ectasia (GAVE) which was treated with APC photocoagulation.
Radiology:
A CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis revealed a 10 cm heterogeneous mass in association with the ileum and distal jejunum with soft tissue and fluid density as well as calcifications.
The patient was taken to surgery where the tumor and a segment of small bowel were resected.
