APTA Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Course
The Department of Human Performance and Applied Exercise Science consists not only of the Division of Physical Therapy, but also includes the Divisions of Exercise Physiology and Occupational Therapy. This administrative arrangement expands the Division’s resources and opportunities for students.
We have 32 years of experience in professional physical therapy education and have been recognized both within and outside the University for our high quality program. APTA Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Course
July 25-26 (Morgantown WV) August 8-9 (Charleston WV)
This course is designed for PTs and PTAs who serve or plan to serve as clinical instructors for PT students and PTA students. The program addresses issues of planning and preparing for students during their clinical education experiences, developing learning experiences and supporting ongoing learning through questioning and effective feedback. Skills in performance evaluation are discussed as well as the identification and management of students with exceptional situations. The program closes with a brief look at legal implications for clinical educators, including issues presented by ADA legislation. An Assessment Center provides each participant with the opportunity to apply information learned during the program to simulated situations. Successful completion of all stations in the Assessment Center results in the
awarding of APTA's CI Credential and 1.5 CEU's.
