Description

Hospice and Palliative Care Physician

West Virginia University School of Medicine seeks a clinical faculty member board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified/eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine for a nontenure, clinical track position. Rank will be commensurate with experience. This individual will work with the interdisciplinary palliative care team at WVU, direct a Palliative Care Program in the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, perform hospital-based palliative care consultations, and serve as a part-time medical director for the largest hospice in West Virginia. The selected candidate will also assume a leadership role in the West Virginia Palliative Care Network, a statewide coalition of hospital-based palliative teams, with several nationally recognized best practices. Incumbent will actively participate in teaching palliative medicine to housestaff, medical, nursing, and pharmacy students and Medical Ethics to medical students at West Virginia University School of Medicine. Opportunities are available for those interested in clinical/basic research.
