Pediatric Geneticist

The Section of Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at West Virginia University Health Sciences Center is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position at the assistant/associate professor level. Candidates should have an interest in patients with inborn errors of metabolism. “Active candidate status” in Clinical Genetics is desired, but not required. Responsibilities include patient care (inpatient consultations, outpatient genetics clinics, multidisciplinary clinics) and teaching of medical students and residents. Opportunities are available for clinical research and collaboration with basic science researchers. The Section of Genetics includes a board certified clinical geneticist, two genetic counselors and a metabolic dietician. The program provides genetics services for the state of West Virginia through a network of outreach clinics. The Section also works closely with the West Virginia Newborn Screening Program, which is based in Charleston, WV.

Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree, board certification or have active candidate status in Clinical Genetics, and be eligible for West Virginia medical licensure.
