Trauma/Critical Care Surgeon

Academic Trauma, Critical Care, Emergency Surgery and Elective General Surgery - West Virginia University School of Medicine is seeking a faculty General Surgeon with an emphasis in Trauma and a General Surgeon with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care (BC/BE). The candidate would join four others in an ACS verified Level I trauma center. Responsibilities include trauma, surgical critical care, and elective and emergency general surgery along with teaching of residents and medical students. Opportunities are available for those interested in clinical/basic research.

WVU Hospitals, Inc., a 530-bed facility, includes a Level 1 Trauma Center and Children’s Hospital. There were 2,200 adult trauma admissions in 2006. A new 12-bed state-of-the-art surgical intensive care unit opened in 2007, bringing the total adult critical care beds to
