Research and Graduate Education
Danielle Davidov
Second-year Public Health Sciences doctoral student
Advisor: Lesley Cottrell
Hometown: Fairmont, West Virginia
Undergraduate degree: I did my undergraduate degree at Marshall University in Huntington and I wanted to come closer to home for grad school.
Biggest surprise? I originally planned to get my master’s degree in public health but the director of the public health program called me and told me that I’d be a great candidate for their new PhD program.
Why WVU? I really like the fact that because the program is so new the students have room to explore our research options and decide which area best fits our interests.
Career ambitions: I’d eventually like to be a professor and do research for a university.
Hobbies: going to the Rec Center, playing volleyball, reading and traveling
The best thing about my program… is that the department really encourages traveling to participate in conferences. I will present a poster at the American Public Health Association conference in Washington, D.C. this fall.
