Financial Support for Graduate Students
All Ph.D. students in the biomedical sciences receive financial support during their training, provided that they remain in good academic standing.
This support includes:
- $23,000 annual stipend
- Full tuition
- Health insurance
Joint M.D./Ph.D. students also receive stipends, tuition waivers, and health insurance for both medical and graduate training. M.S. students are not eligible for institutional tuition waivers or stipends, but may be supported on a grant if funds are available.
Both Ph.D. and M.S. students may be eligible for loans. Please visit the WVU Financial Aid Office for more information.
In general, students receive their stipend awards from the University for two years. After that, they are typically funded through the grants of their mentors in exchange for laboratory research.
