Expectations of Examinees
- All examinees should check email early on the day of the examination for last minute instructor notices/changes, specifically in the event of a weather or facility emergency.
- All examinees are to arrive on time for the examination. Admission to the exam for late arrivals will be at the discretion of the Chief Proctor, and/or the Associate Dean for Medical Education, and/or the Dean on Call.
- All examinees should wear their HSC identification badge.
- No personal belongings may be brought into the examination room; including but not limited to, reference materials, personal or HSC pagers, cell phones, PDAs or food/ beverage. The proctor will announce that pagers, cell phones, PDAs, etc. be turned off and placed with personal effects after entering examination room.
- The proctors will identify the designated area (near the front of room close to exit) to leave personal items.
- All cases/backpacks containing laptops should be left in student lockers. If brought into the examination rooms they must be labeled and stored in the designated area.
- No ball caps may be worn by the examinee.
- All examinees are expected to abide by the SoM Student Code of Integrity.
- All examinees are expected to be familiar with the course specific testing policy.
- All examinees are expected to respectfully follow the instructions of the Chief Proctor and Proctors.
- Examinees are allowed to take personal breaks one at a time for a reasonable period of time.
- Examinees are prohibited from making copies of test questions.
- Examinees are prohibited from removing work sheet from the exam room.
- All students will exit examination room via front doors of the room. Please try to minimize noise when exiting since others may still be taking the examination.
- Any personal items left in the examination room after the exam will be taken to HSC Security (304-293-4332).
EXAMINEES REQUESTING SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS
- Examinee in need of special testing accommodations will meet with Associate Deans in a timely manner, providing documentation of need, to discuss reasonable accommodations.
- Examinee meets with the Course Coordinator in a timely manner to request specific accommodations as approved by the Associate Deans.
