Testing Accommodations Policy

If a student desires special accommodations for examination testing within the MD degree curriculum, the student should make such a request in writing to an Associate Dean for Student Services.

The student must clearly state the reasons such accommodations should be made, what accommodations are being requested, and provide documentation from a health care professional supporting this request. Such requests must be consist with our institutional technical standards. CLICK HERE

The Associate Dean will then review the information and decide if such a request is reasonable, and can be reasonably accommodated given the rigors of the MD degree curriculum. Students are advised that the Associate Dean can accept, reject or modify the specific accommodation being requested.

It is the student's responsibility to let the course director know if they are requesting these approved accommodations. The Associate Dean will then convey the approved accommodations to the course directors for implementation.

Students should be aware that special testing accommodations agreed upon by the School of Medicine does not guarantee that the same or similar accommodations will be provided by nationally standardized examinations, such as those administered by the National Board of Medical Examiners.
