CONGRATULATIONS: Travis McCoy and Laura Waters wish to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage which will be on May 31, 2003. Travis is an MSIV on the Charleston campus and Laura will be a Vanderbilt graduate. Best wishes to the happy couple!

Congratulations: Sara Staubs, Class of 2005, married Emilio Mola on July 6th.

Class Notes:
Fall Tuition/Fees: The first billing for Fall term 2002 is to be sent by Student Accounts on Wednesday, July 24th. This will be the only detailed bill you will receive. Student Accounts only sends out one statement each term with itemized charges on it. Please keep the top portion for your records if you are mailing in a payment with the bottom portion. If you receive financial aid that covers tuition/fees, make no payment at this time. Financial aid will be applied to your account around August 19th and any remainder will be sent to you in the form of a refund check. If you are confused or have ANY question about your account, give Tammy a call (347-1210 or 1-877-988-2427) or email her at tflanagan@hsc.wvu.edu. Early questions make for smoother sailing later!

Summer Research Presentation Program - A presentation program by the 2002 WVU/CAMC Summer Research externs will be held from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm, Saturday, July 27th. Each extern will be presenting the culmination of their work over their 6 week participation. Lunch will be served in the lobby following the program.

The Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) of Charleston will be hosting the following activities:

July 26-28, 2002 - The Family Medicine Residents of Charleston are hosting a Retreat at Summersville Lake and has invited members of the FMIG to participate. If there are enough interested most likely the WVU van can be used so all can travel together. Contact Kelly Fritts in the Department of Family Medicine at 347-4606 or efritts@hsc.wvu.edu if you are interested no later than Friday, July 19th.

August 27, 2002 (tentative date) - The Family Medicine Interest Group will be hosting an Alley Cats Baseball Game. If you are interested, contact kelly by August 1st, so that tickets can be ordered.

If anyone has ideas on lectures, workshops or activities, please do not hesitate in letting Kelly know. The FMIG is very open to your ideas.

The InternaI Medicine Interest Group of Charleston will be hosting the following activity: July 25, 2002 - There will be an "Organizational Meeting" in Room 2000 of the WVU Building at 6:00 pm. Munchies will be available!

MS 4/ Class of 2003:

AOA MEMBERS ONLY: The Wednesday, August 28, 2002 election at 5:00 pm will be held in 3290 of the WVU Building via teleconference with the Morgantown campus members.

GETTING TO RESIDENCY PART 2 - THE INTERVIEW: RSVP this email if you wish to register for this workshop on Tuesday, October 15 from 11:30 am - 3:30 pm. A dining etiquette session will be during the lunch portion of the workshop. Also you may register for one of the two Morgantown sessions, August 27, 3-5 p.m.; October 10, 3-5 p.m. Remember to tell us your chosen residency.

DEAN'S LETTERS: Begin scheduling these even now for August or September. DEAN'S LETTER APPOINTMENT with Dr. Griffith can be scheduled on Tuesday and Friday afternoons beginning August 20 through October 4.
