FAMILY HAPPENINGS: Website Changes: You will soon notice a new look to the Student Services website. We are changing to comply with the new University standard. Please let us know if you have any navigation problems or find any broken links.
CONGRATULATIONS to Cyrus Kavasmanek and Ryan McCarthy (2002 Grads.) and Neel Karne, MS IV. They recently won $250.00 each in the 2001-2002 RHEP Drawing. To be eligible for the drawing the student must complete all RHEP evaluations. These drawings are done annually.

UNIVERSITY HOLIDAY - STUDENT SERVICES CLOSED on Tuesday, November 5 (Morgantown and Charleston).
EVENTS:
AOA AWARDS, SCHOLARSHIPS, FELLOWSHIPS: Open to all medical students Medical Student Service Project Award, Student Essay Award, Student Research Award Fellowship. To learn more about these awards go to the Student Services Web Page, under organizations, Alpha Omega Alpha National Link. We have had students win these national awards before. This is an excellent way to build a great CV for residency applications.
FOOTBALL TENTS: Under the POC Portico on Sat., Oct. 26 Miami Game. Each medical student may invite one guest. If you would like to attend the tent - you must RSVP on the DEMOGRAPHIC Page! If you do not RSVP or you decide to bring an additional guest then you could be charged a fee of $5.00 per person. If you have any questions, contact Carol Kurcaba in Student Services at ckurcaba@hsc.wvu.edu.
FOOTBALL TENT VOLUNTEERS: We still need 2 students to volunteer to work at the Miami tent from 10:00 a.m. - noon on Sat., Oct. 26. If you want to volunteer, have a parking pass and food, contact Carol Kurcaba in Student Services at ckurcaba@hsc.wvu.edu.
AMWA: The American Medical Women's Assoc. offers a number of student benefits to women medical students. (Medical Education Loans, Community Service Scholarship, Research Paper Award, Mentoring Award, Bed and Breakfast Program). NEXT WVU BLOOD DRIVE is Wednesday: The WVU ROTC will sponsor an American Red Cross blood drive from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 23, in Stansbury Hall. Another blood drive will be held next Thursday, Oct. 31, noon-6 p.m. in Stalnaker Hall. For more information call 304-598-0732
