FAMILY HAPPENINGS:
Wedding Bells: Karen Green (Class of 2005) married Gary Breetz (Class of 2006) on December 28th at St. Joseph Church in Crescent Springs, Kentucky.

NOTICES:
On this New Years Eve, we wish you joy and happiness for the coming year. Please celebrate responsibly.

OFFICE HOLIDAY: Student Services will be closed Wednesday, January 1st.

AMWA: The American Medical Women's Assoc. offers a number of student benefits to women medical students. (Medical Education Loans, Community Service Scholarship, Research Paper Award, Mentoring Award, Bed and Breakfast Program). Email Marie Glanz for further information mglanz@lamwa-doc.org There are flyers available in the Student Services Office on the Credenza.

FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION TIME AGAIN! It is once again time to reapply for financial aid for next fall. Students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)/Renewal FAFSA electronically at www.fafsa.ed.gov as soon after January 1, 2003 as possible.

EVENTS:
AOA ELECTIONS: Jan. 22, 2003 - 5:00 p.m., JEJ "A" Morgantown and Room 3290 WVU Building Charleston. Members will be electing students from the Class of 2004, as well as faculty, resident and alumni members. Food will be provided.

RESIDENCY FAIR: January 13, 2003, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., John E Jones Conf. Center

HSC Talent Show: Saturday, February 1, 2003, HSC Auditorium. If you are interested in participating in the talent show you should contact Anne Banfield at abanfie3@mix.wvu.edu, or Jamey Friebe-Cost at jfriebe@mix.wvu.edu. Signups will be taken in front of the bookstore from January 6 - 10, 2003. Proceeds to benefit WVU Children's Hospital.

Academic Standards Committee: The Committee will meet to review the Class of 2004 on Monday, January 6th. The remainder of the Classes were reviewed on December 18th.

MS 3/Class of 2004: Class Meeting, Tuesday, January 7, Room 4007, 10:30 a.m. Fourth year scheduling and requirements will be presented at this time. Attendance is required. Block #4 begins on Monday, January 6th.

MS 2/Class of 2005:
Classes resume on Monday, January 6th. We hope you enjoyed your break.

MS 1/Class of 2006:
Please remember the required orientation to Human Structure and remainder of the 1st year of the curriculum on Friday, January 3rd. Classes for the next module will officially begin on Monday, January 6th.

WESTMORELAND COAL COMPANY MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIPS: Applications for 2003-04 academic year are available in Student Services. Deadline is February 14, 2003. Must be a resident of WV and willing to practice medicine in Boone County, WV for a period of time equal to 1/4 of the scholarship period.
