CONGRATULATIONS to Brad Van Dyke, Class of 2006, on his recent engagement to Lindsey Litton, a first year physical therapy student.

CONGRATULATIONS to Candi Frazier, HSC Director, Office of Financial Aid, on the birth of her son today, Nathanael Isaac, 9 lbs. 5 oz., 22". Mom, Dad, big sister and baby are all doing well.

Remember that if for any reason you are absent from a class, lecture or rotation, it is the student's responsibility to notify that course coordinator/clerkship coordinator directly via email, page, office phone. Do not leave these messages with office staff, residents, etc. In the event of an emergency, feel free to contact the Dean on Call, 598-4000, beeper 0673. MARTIN LUTHER KING CELEBRATIONS: January 20, 2003. The University, and Student Services Offices, will be closed. See attached for details of festivities.

AOA ELECTIONS: Jan. 22, 2003 - 5:00 p.m., JEJ "A" Morgantown and Room 3290 WVU Building Charleston. Members will be electing students from the Class of 2004, as well as faculty, resident and alumni members. Food will be provided.
HSC TALENT SHOW: Saturday, February 1, 2003, HSC Auditorium. If you are interested in participating in the talent show you should contact Anne Banfield at abanfie3@mix.wvu.edu, or Jamey Friebe-Cost at jfriebe@mix.wvu.edu. Signups will be taken in front of the bookstore from January 14-17, 2003. Proceeds to benefit WVU Children's Hospital.
AOA INDUCTION BANQUET: Fri., Mar. 28, 2003, This is open to all AOA members for the induction of new members. This will be held at the Embassy Suites, in Charleston West Virginia. More information to follow.

RESEARCH LUNCH AND LEARN: Wednesday, January 15, noon. Topic: "Time Trends in Colon Cancer in WV 1993-1999" and "Screening for Colon Cancer - CAMC and State Experience," presented by Drs. Steven Jubelirer and James Frame. It may be viewed in Rooms 101 and 102 at General, the 3rd floor Conference Room at W&C's and by "live" lecture in Room 2000 of the WVU Building next door to Memorial.
