FAMILY HAPPENINGS:
CONGRATULATIONS To our fourth year students on their Ophthalmology Match results. All of our seniors seeking Ophthalmology residency positions were successful in the match.

NOTICES:
STATE OF THE SCHOOL: The State of the SOM Address will be held Thursday, February 6, 2003 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the HSC Auditorium. Campus connections: Charleston in the HSC Auditorium and Harper's Ferry in the Family Medicine Conference Room. All students are invited to attend.

SPECIALIZATION INTEREST: We are taking an informal poll of speciality interest. Please help us by responding to StudentServicesMedicine@hsc.wvu.edu if you are currently interested in Psychiatry, Neurology or general medicine and are in the third year of medical school.

PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD FOR USMLE EXAMS: See attached.

EVENTS:
GLOBAL HEALTH DAY: Friday, January 31st, 12-3:30. All students invited. See attached. RSVP to Nancy Sanders, 3-5916, nsanders@hsc.wvu.edu .

TALENT SHOW: This Saturday, February 1, HSC Auditorium. Tickets are available in front of the bookstore. Proceeds to benefit WVU Children's Hospital.

MR AND MRS. HSC: Voting in front of the bookstore over the lunch hour. See attached flyer.

WVU SURVIVE-A-THON: WVU Student Survive-A-Thon for Children's Cancer Research will be held February 8-9, 2003. Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in any of the many activities that will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. See attached.

What's Happening this Week - Morgantown:
TOWN MEETING WITH DR. D'ALESSANDRI RE: LEGISLATURE: Join Dr. Robert D'Alessandri at an HSC Town Meeting to learn more about the HSC budget and other topics being debated in Charleston. Ask questions and get answers. There will be two sessions to accommodate the varying schedules of HSC faculty, staff and students: Thursday, January 30, 2003 at 12 noon-1:00 p.m. and 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the HSC Auditorium.

FMIG MEETING: Wednesday, January 29, 12-1 p.m., Room 3067.

COMBINED MD/MPH PROGRAM - Applications for the combined program are available in the Office of Student Services.

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS AT THE HEALTH FAIR: Blood Pressure screenings will be offered at the Mon Health Fair, February 21 and 22 at the Morgantown Mall.
