NOTICE TO ALL STUDENTS:
HIPAA Training OnLine: Please see HIPAA CBL.doc attachment. This is MANDATORY for all MD and MD/PhD students. Training/testing must be completed by APRIL 10.

STUDENT APPRECIATION DAYS: Alumni is showing their appreciation to all medical students. In Morgantown Room G-104 HSN from February 24 - March 7 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. In Charleston WVU Building 1st floor across from elevators. On February 26 9:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m and February 27 - March 7 from 9:00 - 4:00 p.m. Stop by their office to pick up your special gift that they have for you!

TALENT SHOW VIDEO PURCHASE: 2 Tapes (show on one, third year video on second) . Available at the cost of the video tapes. If you are interested in getting a copying please order by Wednesday, March 12, 2003 E-mail abanfie3@mix.wvu.edu

TALENT SHOW VIDEO CHECKOUT: For anyone who missed the show but does not wish to buy a copy after copies are made one will be available through Student Services.

MORGANTOWN TRAFFIC LIGHTS: We have learned that the contractor responsible for installing the traffic lights at the intersection of Elmer Prince Drive and Rt. 705 hopes to have the lights working by Wednesday evening, March 5. After we are confident the lights are working properly we will announce the date for closing the exit via Medical Center Drive. Activating the traffic lights and closing Medical Center Drive exit should make access to the Health Sciences Center both safer and easier.

KAPLAN ACCESS IN CHARLESTON: Charleston Student Services has made arrangements for you to have access to Kaplan videos in the Charleston HSC Library during your spring break. Remember to bring your Kaplan ID card and photo ID.

KAPLAN VIDEO PROBLEMS?: Email Heather Bakondy directly with the number of the video. She will send a replacement to the library, heather_bakondy@kaplan.com .

MS 1/Class of 2006:
MSI FIELD TRIP: Friday, March 14, 2003, depart on buses from the Coliseum Blue Gate at 7:30 a.m. If you are planning on driving - please note that there is limited parking. Also, you must let Carol Kurcaba by know that you plan on driving and/or going down with someone, please email Carol at ckurcaba@hsc.wvu.edu. If you change you mind and decide to take the bus - Carol will also need that information as well. We need to know who will be riding the bus so we don't forget someone. NOTE: You must wear your white coats! If you are driving/riding with someone you must stop by the Student Service Office before NOON Thurs., Mar. 13 to pick up your packet of information that is being sent from Charleston.

SUMMER COACHING OPPORTUNITY: A local middle school is looking for basketball coaches for their summer league. This is an excellent opportunity to serve the community. PEDIATRIC GRAND ROUNDS: Friday, March 14th, 8:00am - 9:00am at Women and Children's Hospital in the Children's Medicine Center Waiting Room. Robert Needlman, M.D., Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Adjunct, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, will present, "Pediatrics Literacy Intervention: Using Books to Simplify the Health Supervision Visit While Encouraging Early Literacy Skills."

FESTIVAL OF IDEAS: Presents Pulitzer Prize winning author, Judith Miller, speaking on the topic, "Biological Weapons: America's Secret Wars," Wednesday, March 5, at 7:30pm in the Charleston Civic Center Little Theater. Admission is free and seating is first come/first serve.
