CONTRATULATIONS: Chris Dawson, MS2 for being awarded the Student Research Fellowship Award from National Alpha Omega Alpha! His proposal for the AOA award is entitled "Histomorphometric Predictors of Femoral Neck Bone Fragility". Great Job Chris!

BIG THANKS/CONGRATULATIONS: Jessica Perry, Sharon Watkins, Stacey Humphreys, Michael Mastromichalis and all the others who helped with the organization of the Walk/Run for Morgantown Health Right on Saturday. Even though the weather did not cooperate, the turn out was great! A great deal of work went into this event and
everyone did a very good job! WELL DONE! There were 112 participants in the Walk/Run Race. Congratulations to Johanna Fisher for coming in 1st place in the Race. Pictures will be placed on SS Website soon.

UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER: Mollohan to deliver commencement address at WVU May 18 West Virginia First District Congressman Alan B. Mollohan will address WVU graduates and receive an honorary degree during 2003 commencement ceremonies at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at the Coliseum.
REVIEW OF PRESIDENT HARDESTY: April 3 - The WVU Board of Governors is conducting their regularly scheduled four-year review of President Hardesty's presidency. The review committee will be on campus Thursday, April 3, and will meet with students at 3 p.m. in the Mountaineer Room of the Mountainlair. Interested students are invited to attend.
VOLUNTEERS FOR INVESTITURE: Student Services would like some student volunteers to help with the clean up/set up of chairs in the rec center following the investiture ceremony. What's Happening this Week - Morgantown:
LAB COAT SALE: Stop by the Alumni Office (Rm G-104 HSCN) to buy white lab coats left over from past ceremonies. Dirt cheap at $5.00 and $10.00 a coat. (embroidered with WVU School of Medicine) Various sizes (XS-3X) and styles. We accept cash, check or credit cards.
COLLECTION AT REC CENTER: The WVU community can show its support for U.S. troops in Iraq by donating care package items at the Student Recreation Center beginning Tuesday (April 1). Recreation Center staff will accept foodstuffs, toiletries, books and other items through Friday, April 25, at the facility's front desk. Only new items will be accepted. For more information, contact Pam Hagedorn, an administrative assistant coordinating the collection drive, at 293-7053.
PET FOOD DRIVE: Food donations of dog food and cat food are being taken now through April 20th. There are receptacles by the WVU Bookstore and the HSC Cafeteria.

MOCK TRIAL: A number of students at the Law School are involved in the Lugar Invitational Mock Trial Competition, which starts next Monday. The law students would like to talk to someone with a medical background to help them assess this case. If you are interested you could even serve as a witness during the trial. LAB COAT SALE: The Alumni Office in Morgantown is selling white lab coats left over from past ceremonies.
Cheap at $5.00 (some not embroidered, dirt marks, needs a good washing) and $10.00 (excellent condition, embroidered with WVU School of Medicine). Various sizes (XS-3X) and styles. Accept cash, check or credit cards. If you are interested in purchasing a lab coat, please e-mail Gina Slaugenhoup at gslaugenhoup@hsc.wvu.edu the size you want. She will let you know if it is available and when you can pick it up from Terry in the Charleston Alumni Office. You can pay when you pick up the coat.

CHARLESTON MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS WALK: Saturday, April 26. Volunteers needed for registration, relief stations, and as crossing guards for 5 mile walk. Begin at 8:00am at the Columbia Gas Building on MacCorkle Avenue and winds through Kanawha City. May leave around noon. One hour training a few days prior.
