CARON FOUNDATION: is a leader in providing state-of-the-art addiction treatment to adults and adolescents at our residential care programs in northeastern PA. They are offering a one-week Institute on addiction treatment for medical students who are interested in clinical work with alcoholic and drug dependent patients. Held at Wernersville Campus from June 2-6, 2003. Includes housing and meals. During the week you will learn about addictive diseases through individual and small group patient interaction; participation in key components of the treatment program; experimental skill-building exercises; and a master lecture series. What's Happening this Week - Morgantown:
BLOOD DRIVE will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in John Jones 1, 2 and 3. Please call 598-4095 to schedule an appointment.

PET FOOD DRIVE: Food donations of dog food and cat food are being taken now through April 20th. There are receptacles by the WVU Bookstore and the HSC Cafeteria. The food will be taken to the local animal shelter. Any questions contact Susan Saunders at ssaunde2@mix.wvu.edu .

FINANCIAL AID ANNOUNCEMENT: Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! You are to be commended on this academic achievement. To make this transition as financially smooth as possible we are planning an EXIT COUNSELING LOAN SESSION to discuss loan repayment and deferment options. If you are a student loan borrower you are required to attend the following session: DATE: April 28, 2003 WHERE: Hostler Auditorium WHEN: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm During the session you will be asked to complete a questionnaire requiring the name, address and telephone number of two people who will always know your whereabouts. Please remember to bring this information with you. For students on the Charleston campus or on southern WV rotations, the exit counseling session will be accessible through MDTV in Room 2015 in the WVU Building. Community Service Opportunities:
Volunteers Needed for Miracle League Baseball: Mid to Late June through Aug. at Mylan Park just outside of Star City in Morgantown. Kids with disabilities will have the same opportunities as any other kid to play on an actual baseball team in a league. Fields surface is made of a rubber material that allows easy access to wheelchairs and walkers. They need help to make this happen. Need player buddies / coaches for teams and several umpires. Are you interested in helping the kids? If so contact Chad at 296-0150 to sign up or more info.

Community Service Opportunities:
MARCH OF DIMES - WALKAMERICA: The March of Dimes local chapter is looking for volunteers to help in coordinating the WalkAmerica to be held on Sunday, April 27 at the State Capitol. This walk raises money for research and prevention of prematurity and genetic birth defects. They need help at this time for organizational activities as well as volunteers for the day of the walk. Call state director, Mary Angel, at 720-2229 for more information. Potential for several hours of community service.
