FAMILY HAPPENINGS:
WEDDING BELLS: Congratulations to John Orphanos, Class of 2004, on his recent marriage to Dawn D'Alessandri.

CONGRATULATIONS to Marc Yester, Class of 2006, who was selected for a summer externship with Senator Jay Rockefeller working on health care policy and government relations. Way to go Marc !

NEW BABY: Dave Tingler, Class of 2003, and his wife Kyndra would like to announce the delivery of Ella Elizabeth. She was born on Thursday and weighed 6lb. 9oz. Mother and baby Ella are doing wonderful and dad is ecstatic.

AWARD CONVOCATION RECIPIENTS: Special congratulations to all our students who recently received awards of recognition at the Annual Awards Convocation. For a complete list of winners by award, please look at the awards section of our webpage.

JEOPARD WINNERS: This year, as in past years, four, 3rd year WVU medical students competed against the Marshall medical students at the annual WV ACP-ASIM Medical Jeopardy Competition at Glade Springs Resort. Our team composed of John Renton, Quincy Samora, Brad Miller and Bahair Ghazi defeated Marshall after two rounds of Medical Jeopardy questions ! Congratulations to them and thanks for all their hard work in preparing for this annual event. In the fours years of competition, WVU has won each and every year !

CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL: Thank you to those students who worked so hard to raise money for Children's Hospital with the Talent Show. Also, thank you to those people who participated in the talent show along with the faculty. Your gift will help Children's Hospital to continue to make miracles happen for thousands of infants and children each year. Last year there were 70,000 clinic visits to regional outpatient clinics conducted on a monthly basis. From that there were 6,500 infants and children were admitted and treated at the hospital.

NOTICES:
CHANGES TO YOUR ADDRESS/PHONE NUMBERS: 1) Update your personal demographic on-line for use by Student Services; 2) Update via change of address form with Admissions and Records (st floor HSC) for correct billing/financial aid. Charleston students may contact the Office of Student Services for address and/or name change forms.

UNIVERSITY HEALTH SERVICE CO-PAY INCREASE: See Attached DA article. Your co-pay will increase to $10/visit beginning in July. Remember, Charleston/Eastern-based students receive "Health Service" through the Campus Department of Family Medicine.

VOLUNTEERS FOR INVESTITURE: Student Services would like some student volunteers to help with the clean up/set up of chairs in the rec center following the investiture ceremony. This will be on Sat., May 17. If you are interested please contact Carol Kurcaba in Student Services at 293-4961 or email at ckurcaba@hsc.wvu.edu.

The School of Medicine Class of 2003 presented the Charleston Division with a beautiful weeping cherry tree planted on the west end of the WVU HSC Building.
