FAMILY HAPPENINGS:
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2003 on a wonderful graduation weekend!
NOTICES:
SNOWBALL PHOTOS: Photos from Snowball 2003 featuring the Class of 2006 are now available on our website under events.
SUMMER 1 Late fees in effect today, first day of University classes.
COMMITTEE SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES: Please make your interests known to serve on any of the following committees for the school year 2003/04, Students must be in satisfactory academic and professional standing. Address your email to studentservicesmedicine@hsc.wvu.edu
Admissions- MS4 only (~6 positions; requires availability for weekly meetings Tuesdays 3-5pm, and various other afternoons for interviewing: September through March)
Curriculum MS1-4 (1 member from each class and campus: monthly meetings 12p-1p)
Computer MS1-2 (1 member from each class with computer expertise)
Distinguished Teachers MS1-4 (1 member from each class and campus: meets ~ twice)
Students will be notified within the next few weeks as to assignments.
PROFESSIONALISM CODE: The School of Medicine will be adopting a Code of Professionalism which spells out the expectations for appropriate behavior. This Code has been developed by a subcommittee of the Curriculum Committee and is composed of faculty and students. The Code is attached. Please submit any comments/feedback to studentservicesmedicine@hsc.wvu.edu.

TAM RETURN deadline is Friday! Remaining checks will be deposited Monday.
DIPLOMAS:
1. Those not picked-up Sunday are available at A&R until Friday noon.
2. Those remaining will be mailed next week.
3. Bring in your unframed diploma for your notarized copies
MS 3/Class of 2004:
MS4 ORIENTATION: Attendance REQUIRED. Thursday, May 29, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Hostler Auditorium.
FOURTH YEAR CLASS OFFICER ELECTIONS will take place at MS4 Orientation, Thursday, May 29. If you are interested in running for office, a letter of intent is required to StudentServicesMedicine@hsc.wvu.edu (this email site) by Wednesday, May 28, 12 noon.
STEP 2 APPLICATIONS: Remember to have your USMLE ID# when you register online www.nbme.org . The ID is on your Step 1 score report. Applications mailed out 1st and 15th of each month.
MS 2/Class of 2005:
REGISTER FOR NBME BASIC SCIENCE COMPREHENSIVE EXAM is now available. See attached.
MORGANTOWN MS3 ORIENTATION: Attendance Required. Thursday, June 26-Friday June 27. Watch for details in a class email next week.
CHARLESTON MS3 ORIENTATION: Attendance Required. Wednesday, June 26, Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 27. Watch for details in a class e-mail.
MS 1/Class of 2006:
SUMMER 2 REGISTRATION: If you wish to register for the Professional Development Course for Summer 2, please complete the attached form (also contains information). Remember - no course work, no papers required. This course provides professional coverage for "not-for-pay" externship/community service projects.
MS1 ORIENTATION FOR CLASS OF 2007: August 11-12, Jackson's Mill, August 13-15, 2003, HSC. Watch for futher details on how you can become involved.

What's Happening This Week - Charleston:Class Notes:
RESEARCH LUNCH AND LEARN: Wednesday, May 21, noon. Topic: " Recruitment Issues in Clinical Trials," presented by Philip Walson, M.D., Professor of Pediatrics and Director of Clinical Trials, University of Cincinnati. It may be viewed in Rooms 101 and 102 at General, the 3rd floor Conference Room at W&C's and by "live" lecture in Room 2000 of the WVU Building next door to Memorial. RSVP to 388-9960 to be included in the lunch count. Lunch will be provided at all sites.
