NOTICES:
UPDATE OF HEALTH INSURANCE INFORMATION: All students are to update their Health Insurance Information for 2003-2004 on the demographic page. Applications for the 2003-2004 University sponsored insurance program are available in Student Health.

UPDATE OF DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION: All students should proof and update their demographic information for 2003-2004 year.

ALL STUDENTS CONSIDERING RESEARCH: There are two HIPAA requirements necessary to participate in patient related research, "HIPAA Training for Research Teams" and "Human Participants Protections (Ethics) Training". http://www.wvu.edu/~rc/irb/index.htm Upon completion print your confirmation and bring to Student Services for your student file. Contact Student Services if you have questions.

COMMITTEE SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES: Please make your interests known to serve on any of the following committees for the school year 2003/04, Students must be in satisfactory academic and professional standing. Address your email to studentservicesmedicine@hsc.wvu.edu

Admissions- MS4 only (~6 positions; requires availability for weekly meetings Tuesdays 3-5pm, and various other afternoons for interviewing: September through March)

Curriculum MS1-4 (1 member from each class and campus: monthly meetings 12p-1p)

Computer MS1-2 (1 member from each class with computer expertise)

Distinguished Teachers MS1-4 (1 member from each class and campus: meets ~ twice)

Students will be notified within the next few weeks as to assignments.

PROFESSIONALISM CODE: The School of Medicine will be adopting a Code of Professionalism which spells out the expectations for appropriate behavior. This Code has been developed by a subcommittee of the Curriculum Committee and is composed of faculty and students. The Code is attached. Please submit any comments/feedback to studentservicesmedicine@hsc.wvu.edu.

What's Happening this Week - Morgantown:
A "SUPPORT THE TROOPS" DANCE will be held Friday, June 6, at the Lakeview Resort & Conference Center. Doors open at 7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Subway. A $15 donation per person is requested. Tickets are available at the door or at any HealthSouth location. Door prizes, finger foods, casual attire, cash bar. Proceeds will benefit U.S. troops and their families, and will be distributed by the Laurel Chapter of the American Red Cross Armed Services Emergency Committee. The event is sponsored by HealthSouth MountainView Rehab Hospital in conjunction with the American Red Cross. For more information, call 598-1100.

FOURTH YEAR ORIENTATION Thursday 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Hostler. Attendance is required...... followed by RESIDENCY FAIR

CLASS ELECTIONS will be held at the end of the Fourth Year Orientation (included in the 9-1 time). If you wish to run for officer, email this site by TOMORROW, Wednesday, May 28, 12 Noon.

STEP 2 APPLICATIONS: Remember to have your USMLE ID# when you register online www.nbme.org . The ID is on your Step 1 score report. Applications mailed out 1st and 15th of each month.

MS 2/Class of 2005:
CONTRACT FOR USE OF LIBRARY AFTER HOURS: See the Class email sent this evening about signing-up for use of the library after hours. See attached contract. If interested, sign and submit to Student by Friday, May 30th.

KAPLAN MEDPASS PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS: When you are ready to schedule your live onsite practice exam in Pittsburgh, contact the Kaplan office, 412-621-4620.

CHARLESTON MS3 ORIENTATION: Attendance Required. Wednesday, June 25, Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 27. Watch for details in a class e-mail.

MORGANTOWN MS3 ORIENTATION: Attendance Required, Thursday-Friday ( 26-27). Watch for details in a class email.

NBME BASIC SCIENCE SELF ASSESSMENT EXAM: Register online www.nbme.org/sas . Cost is $45.00 per exam.

MS 1/Class of 2006:
SUMMER 2 REGISTRATION: Friday is the deadline to sign the attached form if you wish to register for the Summer 2 Professional Development Course.
