NOTICES:
COMPUTERS! At 7am on June 30, 2003, the HSC Student Wireless Network will be upgraded. You will need to download and install Cisco's wireless Aironet client software on or after June 30, 2003. Doing this before June 30 will break your current wireless connection. On June 30 (or after), please follow the instructions documented at http://iso.hsc.wvu.edu/notebook/R321/Convert/wireless.html to complete the upgrade process. We recommend you complete this process within the HSC while connected to a "wired" jack. If you have any questions, please contact the Help Desk at 293-3631.
JACKSON'S MILL: We are looking for some energetic and upbeat students interested in helping with Jackson's Mill M1 orientation this summer- Monday and Tuesday, August 11 and 12. Please contact Carol Kurcaba at ckurcaba@hsc.wvu.edu if you are interested. If you choose to rsvp to be a camp counselor please state this information as such in your request.
Paying Student fees: Beginning July 1, the HSC Admissions and Records will no longer processes cash, check, or credit card payments to student accounts. Students will have the following options, (1) Paying through their mix account at mix.wvu.edu; (2) Paying directly through star at star.wvu.edu; (3) Paying by phone at 304 293 2892 or 1 888 988 4487; (4) Mailing their payment with envelope provided with their invoice; (5) Paying in person at a cashier's office (Stewart Hall or Bennett Tower) (6) Leaving your check or credit card payment in the HSC Drop Box located on the depository door near Admissions and Records, HSC. These payments will be sent to the Office of Student Accounts on a daily basis. A computer "pay station" is provided at Admissions and Records, HSC for students to access mix and pay on-line with check or credit card. THIS IS NOT APPLICABLE TO THE CHARLESTON DIVISION. STUDENT ACCOUNT PAYMENTS WILL CONTINUE TO BE PROCESSED BY THE OFFICE OF STUDENT SERVICES.
PEER ADVISORS: If you wish to serve as a Peer Advisor to the incoming Class of 2007, complete the form in last week's MOW. Hard copies available in Student Services. If you choose to rsvp to be a peer advisor please state this information as such in your request.

The position is for a Medical Information Specialist. The qualified applicant will work in the Clinical Affairs department and assist in obtaining information concerning various pharmaceutical products and will have various responsibilities concerning ongoing clinical trials. BEST PAPER IN PREVENTIVE MEDICINE BY A MEDICAL STUDENT: Annual Competition with a prize of$1000 for the best paper. The awardee will also be honored at Preventive Medicine, ACPM's annual meeting, which will be held in Orlando, Florida, February 18-22, 2004. All Prevention-related topics will be considered. It is preferred that manuscript submissions comply with AJPM's guidelines for authors (www.ajpm-online.net). Submissions must be received by September 10, 2003. OSHA RECERTIFICATION: is required prior to the start of the MS3 year. The deadline is Monday, June 30. The exam may be accessed on SOLE.
MEDICINE ROTATION IN MORGANTOWN: Notification has come to SS Off. that date/location/time has changed for those students scheduled to rotation through Orientation to Medicine will be: Start time is 8:00 a.m. in room #8A65, Ruby Hospital. If you have any questions contact Beth Zapotosky at 293-4830.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:
STEPPING STONES: Stepping Stones in Westover is having camp for kids with disabilities for children under 13, and another for children from 13-19. The camp is Mon, Wed., Fri. from 1 am - 3 pm. Camp includes swimming, bowling, softball, movies, along with other activities. Camp starts Mon., June 16 until Aug. 8. If interested contact Missy Weimer at 296-0150.

HOSPICE CARE INC.- is looking for volunteers. This promises to be a great educational experience with hospice nurses and doctors(in addition to the hours of service). Hospice covers 8 local counties- Monongalia, Barbour, Marion, Preston, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker, Wetzel. WEST VIRGINIA BOTANICAL GARDENS: The WVBG is again sponsoring the "Gardens of the Mon" tour of private gardens in the Greater Morgantown area. It will be held on Saturday, June 28 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. We have 8 gardens this year. Tickets are available at: The Grounds Keeper Nursery North, Van Voorhis Road, Tatham's Garden Center, Greenbag Road, Mt. Zion Nursery, Mt. Zion Road, Fairmont, WVU Extension Office, Big Lots Shopping Plaza, Westover, The Greater Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau, Seneca Center, Beechurst Ave., Morgantown, Through Friday, June 27, the ticket price will be $8.00 each. On June 28, the price increases to $10.00 each. Kids 12 and under are admitted free with an adult pass. You could also earn a free ticket by volunteering for about 2 ½ hours on tour day! Volunteers are needed to be "Greeters" at the entrance to each garden. The Greeter's job is to check off the ticket numbers of visitors who have already bought tickets, sell tickets to persons who don't already have one, hand out programs and in some locations, sell additional WVBG items. We need at least 3 people at each garden. Shifts are: 9:30am - 12:00 noon, 11:45am- 2:15pm, 2:00pm - 4:30pm, The gardens are located near the Botanic Garden (Tyrone Rd. area, South Park and South Hills. SCOTT'S RUN SETTLEMENT HOUSE: Volunteers needed for Scott's Run fund-raiser Scott's Run Settlement House, a local non-profit agency which provides vital services to low-income families, is hosting a RibFest fund-raiser Saturday, July 26th, at Mylan Park. The day-long event will feature live bands, great ribs and other foods as well as children's activities. The agency is in need of volunteers. 2003-2004 WVU STUDENT INJURY & SICKNESS INSURANCE PLAN applications are available in the Office of Student Services. The plan effective date for the new year is August 12.
MS 3/Class of 2004:
