ANNUAL HSC IMMUNIZATION INFLUENZA CLINIC: Medical Students needed to help with the Flu shot clinic at HSC JEJ Conf. Rm on Mon, Oct. 13 , 1:00-6:00pm and Tues, Oct. 14, 7:00am-3:00pm. If you would like to help administer shots and have no experience, you must attend a workshop on either Mon, Oct. 6, 4:30-5:30pm or Tues, Oct 7, 2:00-3:00pm. Community service hours given. 6th ANNUAL HSC JOB FAIR on Tuesday, Oct. 7th from 3 - 6:30 PM in the JEJ Conference Center. Representatives from over 40 hospitals and clinics from across the state will be here, and are very interested in speaking with our medical students to discuss their future needs for physicians. What's Happening this Week - Morgantown:
ANNUAL AMSA EQUIPMENT SALE: Friday, 10/3/2008 - Noon, Room 1905. RSVPs were due to Sunjay (snunley2@mix.wvu.edu) 9/26 for lunch. Speaking: Kevin Pancratz from "The Medical Store" and some PDCI I & II professors will be in attendance as well. All medical students will receive discounts on medical equipment including sale day promotions.
RURAL HEALTH INTEREST GROUP. New Group open to students from all HSC professional programs, focused on education, advocacy, service, and mentoring for future rural health care providers, and anyone interested in learning more about the realities of rural healthcare. Informational meeting, October 6 noon Room 1106 HSCN. If you are interested in helping establish the organization or would like more information, email Mollie at mmccart7@mix.wvu.edu. HEALTH SCIENCES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: Award: $20,000. Fourth year students who are planning on entering primary care internships or residency programs (Family Medicine, General Pediatrics, General Internal Medicine, Med-Peds, OB/GYN, and General Psychiatry) in WV are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Please see Brenda Michael, Office of Student Services, for application packets. Application Deadline: October 15, 2008.

Medical Spanish Class- Ms. Etel Wheeler will begin teaching medical Spanish lessons on Oct. 17 here at the RCB Building. Classes will be held from 12-1:00pm on 6 consecutive Fridays. Please bring your lunch. In January, she will be teaching 6 additional lessons that will be a continuation of the first class. All third & fourth year students are invited to attend. Please bring a small pocket English/Spanish dictionary.
