NOTICES:

NBME NOTICE OF INTEGRITY VIOLATIONS VIA ONLINE POSTINGS/DISCUSSION see attached – ALL STUDENTS SHOULD REVIEW THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY.

HSC BANS THROUGH-TRAFFIC FROM PARKING AREAS:Starting Sept. 21, lots 80-84 will be closed to through traffic during work hours preventing drivers from using the lots as a shortcut between Van Voorhis Road and Willowdale Drive. 

ALL STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS AND CLASS TREASURERS WITH BANK ACCOUNTS, PLEASE STOP BY THE OFFICE OF STUDENT SERVICES, ROOM 1146 AND PICK-UP BANK STATEMENT. THIS INCLUDES ALL CLASSES AS WELL. THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE UNTIL MONDAY, 9/21/09 @ 5:00 P.M.

MORGANTOWN FLU SHOT CLNIICS: Please consider getting your seasonal flu shot  this fall. There will be free shots given to students at HSC on 9/22 from 7:00AM-6:00PM and at the Recreation Center  from 3:00PM-7:00PM on 9/28 and 10/6.  Free shot clinics for students for the Novel H1N1 flu will be given in October- stay tuned for more information.

HSC RURAL HEALTH FAIR:   Mark your calendars and plan on attending.  Site Coordinators from all WV Rural Consortiums will be present to speak with you about what their area has to offer.  Tuesday, November 17 th, 12:30-4:30 pm.

DECEMBER GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR THE CLASS OF 2009: Saturday, December 12, 2009, 1:30 pm.  Health Science Center Okey Patteson Auditorium.  More details to come.

October 5th: AMSA Medical Equipment Sale from 12 PM to 4 PM- Location to be announced

November 10th: AMSA "What the Heck Does that Mean?" Lunch lecture with Dr. John Guilfoose 12 noon in Room 1901.

The OB/Gyn Interest Group will be having a meeting on Wednesday, September 16, at noon in John E. Jones room B. Lunch will be provided to those who RSVP to kjones23@mix.wvu.edu by noon on Sept. 4.

MS2 ORIENTATION:   ATTENDANCE REQUIRED.  Friday, September 18, 1-4 pm; meal tickets will be distributed at the end of your 11 am class to facilitate your day.  Orientation information includes MS2 academic requirements, Step 1 information, class ranks, financial education, and administration of PPDs.  AGENDA/details being sent via class email under separate cover today.

Medical Grand Rounds- “Choosing Pathways in UA/STEMI: An Evidence Based Approach for 2009”. Wed. Sept. 23, 2009, 12n-1:00pm, 8 th floor Classroom. Speaker- Robert DiBianco, MD, Cardiology Consultant Staff, Wash. Adventist Hospital, MD.

Family and Spouse Orientation Program for all Eastern Campus Medical Students will be held at the Eastern Division, Friday, Sept.,25, from 9:00am-12:00noon. Lunch will be provided for students and their families. The program will include presentations by the deans, tour of the hospital and an overview of the medical curriculum. Please RSVP to Michelle in Student Services by Tu. Sept. 22.

Cushing Students- Please be aware that you will need ten graded H & P’s in your folder by Sept. 14 th. This is the mid point of the semester. Student H & P’s can be picked up in the City Physician File room in a box marked for H & P’s.

Mid-Term Exams held this Friday for Surgery and Pediatrics. Both exams will begin at 8:00am and will be paper exams.

Community Service Reminder- Please record your dates and times when you are working on your project. Your time log will be required at the conclusion of your project.

Sat. Oct 3 rd 7:00am-2:00pm- Freedom’s Run Event, Meeting in Shepherdstown. Need volunteers to course marshals and stations. www.freedomsrun.org; goodies for all volunteers. See “volunteer” tab on website; Some of classmates running…..cheer them on; COUNTS FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS. Please sign up in the Student Services Office by Sept. 18 th.
