WHITE COAT CEREMONY 2010: Saturday, March 27, 2010, 11:00 am, The Metropolitan Theatre, High Street, Morgantown.

WOMEN PHYSICIAN’S as part of Alumni Weekend celebration in October, the women alumni of Class of 1979 (their 30th reunion) are putting on a CME activity for students and resident physicians and any other health professional students on Friday afternoon Oct 23rd. This will center on communication, and give current student and woman residents a chance to interact and meet several woman physicians who have “been there and done that”, and would love to serve as a mentoring base for younger women. Several career paths will be represented by the alumni attending: Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Pathology-Hematology, Internal medicine and Psychiatry.

November 10th: AMSA "What the Heck Does that Mean?" Lunch lecture with Dr. John Guilfoose 12 noon in Room 1901.

FAMILY MEDICINE INTEREST GROUP - MUSHROOM: The Family Medicine Interest Group will be having another lunchtime meeting on Tuesday, October 13th, at noon in room 1909. Lunch will be provided to those who RSVP by Saturday October, 10th. The topic will be MUSHROOM (Multidisciplinary UnSheltered Homeless Relief Outreach of Morgantown), our homeless outreach program. Dr. Fitzpatrick will be giving a talk, and some students who have frequented MUSHROOM rounds will also be sharing their experiences. RSVP to lheller@mix.wvu.edu"

INTERNAL MEDICINE INTEREST GROUP: The next Internal Medicine Interest Group meeting will be October 8th at NOON in room 1905 with lunch provided. Dr. Abraham will be coming to speak about oncology and his approach to the career. Dr. Abraham is a well respected figure in Oncology nation-wide and this will be a great talk to hear! The Psychiatry Student Interest Group will be having its first meeting of the year this Thursday 10/8/2009 at noon in room 1909. Dr. Fidler will be discussing psychiatry as a career. Please RSVP to Erika Betler at ebetler1@mix.wvu.edu by midnight tonight for lunch.

Surgery Interest Group will be having their first meeting on Friday, October 9 at noon in room 1905. We will have Dr. Zaslau from the Department of Surgery as our first speaker.
