Do You Qualify for Bariatric Surgery?

A candidate for bariatric surgery should meet these qualifications:

• Failed attempts with previous supervised weight loss programs or prescription diet medications.

• Commitment to life-long dietary changes and follow-up.
• BMI greater than 40, or BMI greater than 35 with serious medical conditions caused by obesity (for example, diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea).
