WVU's Team Approach

West Virginia University’s Bariatric Surgery Program offers a team approach to the comprehensive treatment of severe obesity. Our surgeons specialize in minimally invasive techniques (laparoscopic surgery) and also offer open surgery, depending on the needs of the individual.

Our team includes dietitians, clinical psychologists, physical therapists, and others who work with each patient before, during, and after the surgery to ensure our patients receive the best care.

In addition, we have access to healthcare experts who provide a complete range of specialty care and state-of-the-art imaging and scanning services which help us deliver a quality of care unavailable elsewhere in the region.
