Doctor of Nursing Practice

(Application deadline extended to May 15, 2009)

This program will prepare advanced practice nurses who will practice at the highest level of professional nursing and will advance the application of nursing knowledge for the purpose of improving health care for diverse populations.

This is a 30-34 credit post MSN program that can be completed in 5 semesters for students who elect a full-time progression plan. A part-time progression plan requires 7 to 8 semesters to complete.

Post Admission Requirements

During the summer, post admission and prior to enrollment, students will be required to:

  1. Complete a 10 hour, web-based Research and Statistics review course. Continuing Education (CE) credits will be offered.

  2. Complete an American Psychological Association (APA) tutorial online.

  3. Complete a library orientation online.

  4. Complete an online orientation to the WVU online environment.

Links to each of these tutorials will be included in the admission letter, along with deadlines for completion.
